Craft Book: Tole Style Decorative Painting
By Loretta Sias
1974 Craft Course Publishers, Inc.
24 Pages

Tole painting dates back to the day when immigrants first settle the American wilderness. Since tin utensils were common at the time, it became the fashion to decorate "toleware". As a result traditional folk painting eventually earned the name of "tole painting".

About this book:
Tole-style painting uses the original pressure and release method of painting but includes color blending and other techniques to paint more realistically. The pages present more than twenty black and white patterns for tole-style painting. They can be traced and transferred with light or dark transfer paper onto a wide variety of objects.
