Metals of all kinds have intrigues craftsmen down through the centuries. Today's contemporary hobbyists are fashioning projects of easy-to-find inexpensive foils and metals such as: Art metal, laminated foil, copper, aluminum foil and even tin cans.

Foils are available in all gauges and all tempers from heavy (small gauge as 12) to very light (larger gauge as 42). Tooling metals are usually 36 gauge full soft. The foils used in this type of craft are very light (full soft as used for household foils).

The unusual butterfly metal sculpture was formed of brass and cut with a torch.

Tin can metal can be easily fashioned into small chairs, mirrors, picture frames, ornaments, etc.
